Doctor Linda Gabbi, one of our Tutors, presents a case study carried out through the use of Vagy Combi, Post-coital cystitis: when pleasure turns into pain. This case highlights how the use of a TQG device — combined with a diagnostic approach and a multidisciplinary intervention applied by the tutor both in the diagnosis and treatment of intimate dysfunctions — is essential for the success of the therapy itself and for achieving the shared goal pursued by both TQG and the professionals: women’s well-being.”
Below the case study
Patient’s initial conditions
The patient came for the first visit having been already diagnosed with: pudendal neuralgia, dyspareunia, vaginal atrophy, post-coital cystitis (one episode per month, ongoing for two years). The patient is 54 years old and has been menopausal for 5 years. She has never been pregnant and was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 40, she underwent a quadrantectomy followed by Tamoxifen therapy. She received vaginal laser therapy with no improvement. At the time of the visit, she reports having been sexually inactive for some time due to severe pain. She described a sensation of pins and needles at the vaginal introitus and at the 6 o’clock position of the vestibule, along with mild perineal hypertonia.
Vagy Combi Treatment type and duration
Eight Vagy Combi sessions were performed initially on a weekly basis, with a synergic approach using both Radiofrequency and Electroporation. Each session involved 10 minutes of bipolar RF alternating capacitive and resistive modalities, followed by 10 minutes of Electroporation treatment with hyaluronic acid and tramadol. After the first eight sessions, the doctor continued the therapy with one session every 4 weeks for the maintenance treatments.
Synergy with other treatments
The urologist prescribed an antibiotic to be taken each time post intercourse. After the eighth session the patient stopped the assumption of the antibiotic and she didn’t take it again. Our tutor recommended pelvic floor relaxation, stretching exercises and an internal massage with Saginil gel.
Symptoms after the treatment
After the sixth session, the patient returned to her normal sexual life. At the beginning she felt a sense of discomfort, localized only in one point, but after the eighth session the sexual intercouses stopped inducing any pain or symptoms of post-coital cystitis. Two years since the beginning of the treatment, the patient no longer suffered from cystitis and she finally returned to an active and pleasant sexual life
Advantages
The treatment performed by Vagy Combi helped strengthen and hydrate the vaginal mucosa, improve muscle elasticity, and reduce both bladder and nerve inflammation.
